Charities

Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. Over half of all cancer research in the UK is carried out by our scientists. We have discovered new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer that together have saved millions of lives across the world. We have been at the heart of the progress that has already seen survival rates double in the last thirty years. But one in three of us will still get cancer at some point in our lives. Our groundbreaking work, funded entirely by the public, will help ensure that millions more people will survive.
Parkinson's UK
Every hour, someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson's. Because we're here, no one has to face Parkinson's alone. We bring people with Parkinson's, their carers and families together via our network of local groups, our website and free confidential helpline. Specialist nurses, our supporters and staff provide information on every aspect of Parkinson's. As the UK's Parkinson's support and research charity we're leading the work to find a cure, and we're closer than ever. We also campaign to change attitudes and demand better services. Our work is totally dependant on donations. Help us to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson's.

Thanks for visiting the Qualvis Coast 2 Coast donation page.

On Friday 11th June 2010, James, Jason, Marcus, Pat, Paul P, Paul W, Phil and Simon (+support team), will be leaving The Irish Sea at Whitehaven on cycles, heading 150 miles east to The North Sea, arriving in Sunderland on Sunday 13th June.

Our chosen charities are Cancer Research UK and Parkinson's UK. Both charties are very close to our hearts as Paul Watkinson's mother is currently battling against cancer, and James Cornish's mother has (and Grandfather had) Parkinson's disease.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
