A HUGE thank you to everyone of you who sponsored me. My target was what I thought would be a realistic £2000. The total now stands at an unbelievable £4311 and counting! I really am at a loss as to how to express my gratitude to you all for your generosity and support. The marathon was an awesome experience, and although I unfortunately did not have my best run the feeling running down 'The Mall' made up for it. I did not break 4 hours but the atmosphere of all the runners and the support of the crowd made me and all runners feel on top of the world.

However the winners on the day were all the charities who raised valuable funds for their worthwhile causes and the way the 'Children with Leukaemia' team looked after their runners before, during and after the race they really appreciate all of your and my efforts. THANK YOU!

THANK you so much to all who have sponsored me so far;offered me an incentive based on my finishing time or who are still going to sponsor me. It is all very much appreciated and will definitely help me get through those last few miles. A special mention to Mr Robinson, Mr McGarry and all staff and pupils at Campbell College's School House. It was a great honour to come and address you all at your recent assembly about my marathon and the charity I am supporting. I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of £2000.00 you have raised on my behalf for 'Children with Leukaemia'. It is an unbelievable amount and all your fundraising efforts are so appreciated- thank you so much to everyone single one of you.

My next update will be on how I get on at the marathon- hopefully I will be sharing some good news!!

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to 'Children with Leukaemia' (www.leukaemia.org) directly. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

I am raising money by running my 1st London Marathon on the 17th April this year for 'Children with Leukaemia'- the UK's leading charity dedicated to fighting Britain's biggest childhood cancer. This charity is something very close to my heart with a pupil in my class currently fighting this terrible illness having being diagnosed with it towards the end of last year. I am in constant contact with him and his family and visit him regularly. I am pleased to say he is making steady progress in his recovery, although he has a long road ahead. However his parents tell me that his courage and positive attitude have kept them going during this terrible ordeal. His class and all the pupils at Brooklands Primary, where I teach, are so proud of him and look forward to seeing him back at school. We are going to have events at school where both the pupils and staff will be supporting my cause by raising money to help fight this illness.

So after doing 2 Belfast Marathons, I am hard in training and can't wait to take to the roads of London. I am aiming to do a sub 3hr45 marathon which will certainly better the time for my 2 Belfast Marathons. I will keep this page updated of my progress during training and fundraising.

Once again thanks for visiting this page and for your support and generosity. It is MUCH appreciated and will help me to achieve my target of money raised for ' Children with Leukaemia'.
