BBC Children in Need
BBC Children in Need’s mission is to make a positive change to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. Our vision is a society where each and every child and young person is supported to realise their potential. The money YOU raise makes a real difference to the lives of thousands of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. With these funds, BBC Children in Need are able to make grants to voluntary projects, community groups and registered charities that will offer practical and lasting support to children and young people: Experiencing poverty, deprivation or homelessness Suffering from illness, abuse, distress or neglect With learning, sensory or physical disabilities With behavioural and psychological disorders Our UK wide structure enables us to understand local needs, build relationships with local organisations and respond appropriately to local requirements, it also enables us to ensure that children in all corners of the UK have the opportunity to benefit from the funds we raise.

In this year's Fun Run, Ricardo's Cambridge office will be represented by two three teams!

In the red corner we have:

  • Darren Sexton
  • John Bailey
  • Richard Saady
  • Richard Pfisterer

and in the blue corner, Ricardo's Ropey Relay Runners Reloaded:

  • Craig Barry
  • Dan Boschi
  • Jayant Rampuria
  • Roger Thornton

and in the dark, scary corner, Ricardo's Ropey Relay Runners Repeated:

  • Ian Cluett
  • Graeme Smith
  • Raphael Djondo
  • Andre Martins

We're obviously going to be far too busy with our fanatical training schedule to write a blog or anything of that ilk, but please donate your cash to a good cause!

For each £10 of sponsorship raised, we're committed to knocking 10 seconds off Darren's lap time.  With your incentive (and possibly the benefits of starvation weight loss and a high-powered electric cattle prod), Darren "Bannister" Sexton will put a new stamp in the Cambridge Fun Run record book, with misty eyed on-lookers being able to proudly state "I was there".

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.

Thanks for your support,

Andre, Craig, Dan, Darren, Graeme, Ian, Jayant, John, Raphael, Richard x II and Roger
