***** Harrogate & District Round Table, for only the third time, will be fielding a team in the 47th annual Great Knaresborough Bed Race on Saturday 09th June 2012 and raising much needed funds for Harrogate based Paperworks. *****

A bumper day is keenly anticipated for the 2012 Bed Race with thousands of spectators turning out to watch a record entry field of 90 teams.

The theme this year is Olympics with each team allocated a nation of the world. We have been given NORWAY which means we will be invading the high street dressed as Vikings or  maybe as cross-country skiers?? Led by Chairman of Round Table Rob Burns supported ably by Paperworks Chief Executive Damien Handslip this year's team has 'potential' written all over it with regular fitness essions already happening on the Stray and down by the river.

The team includes Harrogate Round Table members; Rob Burns, Dan Mitchell, Chris Morris, Mike Briggs, Nick Jewitt plus Damien Handslip from Paperworks. With no less than 4 virgin runners this year, it promises to be an exciting day with no doubt a few scares and falls on the way.

Our team have trained hard to battle the hills and river and are hoping to make a good time and raise a deserved amount for an excellent charity! Last year a very impressive £3800 was raised so please give generously; any amount is very much appreciated! Our target this year through Virginmoneygiving is a tough £4000 but with your help we can achieve this.

Festivities start at 11am with Fete, amusements etc... and judging for the best decorated bed at 11.30, 1pm for the bed parade and the actual bed race starts at 3pm.
