Msaada
Msaada was established in 2005 in the Blackmore Vale area of North Dorset/South Wiltshire, to help Rwandans in the east of the country rebuild their lives following the catastrophic 1994 genocide, through self-sustainable development projects and education. The group was founded with the support of Fergal Keane of the BBC who reported on the atrocities in Rwanda in 1994 which left about one million dead and millions of lives in ruins. Msaada is working with AVEGA East (the Association des Veuves du Genocide Agahozo) a self-help widows’ and orphans’ group who are seeking to assist over 4,000 widows and over 14,000 orphans in the Kibungo area of Rwanda left destitute after the horrors of the ethnic cleansing; Excel Primary School in Rwamagana, which promotes the education and integration of students regardless of ethnic background; SURF (the Survivors’ Fund); Rwamagana Secondary School, and the Subiruseke Vocational Training Association. Msaada seeks to establish self-sustaining projects to encourage prosperity, development and growth. Msaada provides support on the basis of the need, and capacity, of the local people. Support is not based on ethnic, religious or political considerations.

Sam Feller's Rwandan Challenge

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RwandanMarathon

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

On 19 Feburary 2012, I am running a 26-mile marathon in Rwamagana, East Rwanda to raise money for Msaada, a small UK-based and registered charity that helps victims of the horrific Rwandan genocide in 1994 including widows and orphans and helps to re-build their lives.
During our trip, we will visit some of the schools that Msaada makes regular donations to.  We will also visit some of the homes that Msaada, through your donations, help to re-build.

I am self-funding the trip and all donations will go directly to those who need it most.

Since July 2005, Msaada have raised £465,000 to fund self-sustainable projects in Africa.  You can find out more about Msaada at www.msaada.org

This really is a wholly worthwhile cause and your donations really will make a difference.  For example, if I meet my target of £1,500, then this is enough for one family to afford a cow which will provide a family with a livelihood for the rest of their lives.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
