UPDATE!

Well despite freezing rain, wind and wading through muddy grass, I actually managed to run the 5K.  It was not easy but the stupendous support and encouragement from everyone on Twitter, Facebook, my work colleagues and very good friends, race officials and marshalls on the day, led to a thoroughly enjoyable experience.  I would even do it all over again.  Thank you to everyone who donated/sponsored online or with the sponsor forms.  Thank you Katy and Sarah (and Tim) for your wonderful hospitality.  The donations page will be kept open for a few more weeks, but so far the total amount raised will be close to £400 which is incredible.

Much love to you all

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

A year ago I would never have contemplated running anywhere let alone a 5K race.  But having been diagnosed as a Type2 Diabetic some months ago I was determined to keep it under control through diet and exercise.  I am really pleased that I have achieved that so far.  But I need to sustain this equilibrium and so I continue as I have but set targets along the way.

Running this race is my long term target and a great opportunity to raise some funds for Diabetes UK who do sterling work with research.  Diabetes is a horrible chronic illness and left uncontrolled will lead to severe complications.

The race is being held in Bute Park, Cardiff on 4th March 2012.  If you are in the area come and cheer me on.  You might even get a sweaty hug :)

And thank you again for any donations.
