Sponsored Walk of the Rum Cuillin Ridge
Hello, thank you for visiting my fund raising page. You can help me to raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation by sponsoring me on this page.
In spring 2010, after suffering chest pains I was airlifted from the islands to hospital where I was diagnosed with coronary heart disease. On 19 April 2010 I had a heart by-pass operation at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Due to the skill of the surgeons and the care of many doctors and nurses both before and after the operation I am now once again able to lead a normal and active life.
On 31 August 2011, accompanied by Neil Boyd, I completed a sponsored walk of the Rum Cuillin mountain ridge on the Isle of Rum off North West Scotland. This was a dramatic walk of 13.5 miles containing lots of steep ascent and descent with some moderate rock scrambling. You can view photos of the event here

By completing this walk I hope to raise vital funds for the BHF that will be used in pioneering research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions; support and care for heart patients through the Heart Helpline; provide vital information, through easy to understand literature and targeted campaigns and campaigning for change - to improve the lives of children, heart patients and their families.
