The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is the charity that saves lives at sea. The RNLI’s volunteer lifeboat crews rescue an average of 23 people a day around the coasts and waterways of the UK and the Republic of Ireland. From 235 lifeboat stations, they are well trained and equipped to put to sea in the most fearsome conditions when the call comes. RNLI lifeguards patrol more than 200 beaches in the UK. As well as rescuing people from the water, they are also on hand for first aid and safety advice, making sure everyone can make the most of their day at the beach. Are you passionate about the water? Do you want to be part of a lifesaving team? Whatever the reason for your interest in our work, we’d love to have you onboard. The RNLI is an independent charity and receives no government funding. We rely on public support.

My page:

Thanks for visiting the Seiclon 2016 fundraising page and for supporting the team on our 240 mile cycle challenge.

What are we doing?

This year Seiclon 2016 will see 20 cyclists riding 240 miles over three days, starting from Porthdinllaen, through Snowdonia and crossing into England, before returning through mid Wales and riding along the coast from Aberdyfi, around the Llyn peninsula and back to Porthdillaen. Monies raised will go to training the brave men and women who give their time and effort selflessly in the service of others.

RNLI Porthdinllaen are organising the event with Clwb Beicio'r Eifl, and this years Seiclon, the fourth to be held will certainly be the toughest yet.

Why are we doing this?

Since a lifeboat was established at Porthdinllaen in 1864, its brave generations of volunteer crew have launched their lifeboats over 750 times, rescuing over 720 people from serious danger at sea and saving over 380 lives.
