We are walking from Ambleside to Brockhole to raise money for red squirrel conservation in the North of England.
Why? Cute, fluffy, British red squirrels are dying out because humans made a big mistake in the 1870s for which we are now paying the price - they brought the American grey squirrel to Britain. This bigger animal eats all the reds' food and carries a deadly disease, which kills reds, but not greys. As a result our native squirrel is becoming increasingly rare.
Please help us make sure Squirrel Nutkin's (the famous red squirrel from Beatrix Potter's story) friends are still around for many years to come. Sponsor us to do this crazy walk! Thank you!
