Charity
Cornwall Hospice Care provides specialist palliative care to the people of Cornwall living with life limiting illnesses. Many lives across the county and beyond have been touched by the holistic care provided by the charity at its two hospices, Mount Edgcumbe in St Austell and St Julia's in Hayle. The care is provided free of charge, but costs £5.6 million a year or £11 a minute. With less than 20% funding from government sources the charity is extremely reliant on the support and generosity of the general public to maintain its services.

Stephie's page for Josie
This is for Josie Brooks. She was feisty and vivacious and could always make me smile. I couldn't do anything to help her through 2 years of treatment for leukaemia, but I can do this: run a difficult 28 miles along very hilly cliffs in South Devon to raise funds for St Julia's Hospice (1 of 2 hospices run by Cornwall Hospice Care).
Josie spent the last 3 months of her life at St Julia's and died there just after Christmas at the age of 21. Seeing how they cared for her was inspiring and I want to raise money in her memory to help them care for others with the same grace, discreetness and love they showed Josie.
Running 28 miles will be tough (it's the first marathon I've ever done) and I'm constantly doubting my ability to do it, but if I think of Josie, dig deep and remember the courage and resilience she showed I know nothing can be as difficult as what she endured and I will do my utmost to succeed.
Stephie
Thanks for visiting my page. Please sponsor me as generously as you can, St Julia's only receives 13% of it's funding from government, the rest comes from charitable donations - any amount large or small will help me to help them.
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
