The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association is the only national charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland working to help people with MND secure the care and support they need, while also promoting research into causes, treatments and a cure. The Association has a vision of a world free of MND. Its mission is to fund and promote research to understand what causes MND, how to diagnose it and, most importantly, how to effectively treat it so that it no longer devastates lives. It is also committed to making sure everyone with MND receives the best care, achieves the highest quality of life possible, and dies with dignity. This includes supporting the families and carers of people with MND as well.

The £100K Challenge
Hi, thank you for visiting my fund raising page.
After my mum died from this terrible disease, I decided to raise a £100k for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. It's taken 14 years to nearly get there. This money has been used for research, equipment and to provide a better quality of life for people struck down with this terrible disease. Life expectancy after the first onset of symptoms is just two-five years.
The cause is unknown and there is no known cure.
After a very busy 2011, the push is now in in 2012 to get to the £100K Please, however big or small, support the team during the forthcoming challenges. Everything helps!!
19th February 2012 - Brighton Half Marathon - 2:04:37
1st April 2012 - Kingston 16 Miles - No, it's not an April Fool. - 2:34:35
22nd April 2012 - Virgin London Marathon - Dedicated to Claire Squires 5:00:59
12th May 2012 - 3 Hour Rave & Ride - Marlow Club, Marlow - 27 people and a lot of money raised.
May 26th & 27th 2012 - Yorkshire Dales - 100K IN UNDER 30 HOURS - ARE WE MAD???

Through Virgin Money Giving, sponsorship is easy and donations will be quickly processed and passed to MNDA. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
