Initiatives of Change
Initiatives of Change is a diverse, global network committed to building trust across the world's divides. It works on the principle that changes in people's motives, attitudes and behaviour are not only possible but are the only sure basis on which wider lasting change in society can be brought about. Aims and Objectives of IofC Initiatives of Change (IofC) is focussed around the interaction of people, whether few or many, in homes, small or large groups, personal encounters, training courses, and local or international conferences. For over 70 years IofC has brought people of diverse backgrounds and faiths together. It has provided a rallying point for individuals and teams to work for justice, healing and human development, based on personal change starting in their own lives. Current initiatives are aimed at: Healing the wounds of history that sustain cycles of revenge, especially where cultures and civilizations meet. Strengthening the moral and spiritual dimensions of democracy, so challenging selfish interests and corruption. Helping individuals and families to counter the climate of blame and selfishness with a culture of care and personal responsibility. Strengthening the motivation of care and moral commitment in economic life and thinking, in order to create jobs, correct economic and environmental imbalance, and tackle the root causes of poverty. Rebuilding a sense of community and hope in cities and tackling the causes of racial and communal discrimination. Forging networks among people from different cultures and faiths based on a shared commitment to work for reconciliation, justice, and peace.

We are raising money for the Caux Forum by putting a swear jar in our office.  Each time someone swears, they have to donate to the charity of our choice - The Caux forum with the Initiatives of Change.

The Caux Forum addresses human security issues which is everyones business. Have a hand in helping the world change one challenge at a time or one swear word at a time.

If you are just checking out our page and like what we are doing, you can either start a challenge of your own or donate to my challenge!  With or without swearing ;)

The Caux Challenge is a campaign for those who want to raise money for Caux's crucial work to advance human security.

Caux has no big financial backers. The Caux Forum costs about CHF 400,000 annually and that comes largely from the participants themselves, most of whom have covered their travel and conference costs from their organizations or their own resources.

The conference fees are modest by Swiss standards. CHF 750.- covers 7-nights board and participation. But some participants need our help. Those from regions of conflict and deprivation are often unable to find funding themselves, and there are others doing outstanding work who cannot afford to take part.

Also, it's a huge challenge to respond to the growing number of requests to help develop in the field the plans which emerge at the Forum.

We need your help. The challenges facing humanity are immense.

If you don't have time to accept the Caux Challenge yourself, please give generously from the heart to support participants in the Caux Challenge:

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
