Leukaemia CARE exists to provide vital care and support to all those whose lives have been affected by leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and the allied blood disorders. Our work extends to the welfare of family members, friends, colleagues and carers, as well as that of patients themselves. Quite simply...'supporting a quality of life for all'. Leukaemia CARE provides support in many different ways, but can be summarised into eight key support services: 1. Our 24-hour freephone CARE Line (0800 169 6680). 2. Regional CARE Teams providing advice and support on a one to one basis. 3. Holiday Programme allowing families to take much needed breaks from hospital routines. 4. Limited financial assistance, such as shopping vouchers. 5. Cancer Campaigning. 6. Support Groups for patients to discuss their experiences amongst empathetic individuals. 7. Providing relevant and up to date information & booklets. 8. Dedicated website and message board service.

Thanks so much for even visiting this page. For those of you who know me well you'll know that;
1) I hate exercise, especially running
2) My Dad is very important to me.
These two things are combining for a very special reason, 21st April 2013 - I'll be running my very first marathon in aid of Leukaemia Care.
A few years ago my Dad was taken ill with acute myeloid leukaemia and spent 6 months fighting for his life in hospital. He's OK now, but continues to have regular checkups. I'm running because I need to get fit, but also because it's a really important charity, providing vital support and care to everyone who has been affected by these terrible illnesses.
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
