Action For Kids Charitable Trust - Action For Kids is a national charity helping children and young people up to the age of 26 with physical and learning disabilities. We transform young lives not only by supplying wheelchairs but by providing opportunities for work and training. We provide mobility equipment that is not available on the NHS, such as sophisticated powered wheelchairs which enable the user to travel long distances. Unlike other charities, we don’t merely supply equipment: we also offer a maintenance program to keep wheelchairs in tip-top condition. Action For Kids provides work related learning and office experience for young disabled people. Students come to our head office to do real work in a real workplace. They are also taught domestic skills to enable them to live independently. We have an Outreach program, taking work related learning into schools. Finally, our Family Support Services team provides a Helpline for families, providing practical advice or just someone to listen.

On 9th October Keji Oshinyemi, Cassandra Doyle and Luke Slatford are running this year's Royal Parks half marathon (13.1 miles) to help raise much needed money for Action for Kids.

Action For Kids (AFK) is a national charity working with children and young people with physical and learning disabilities and their parents and carers, and has been choosen as the Takeda Global R&D Centre - Europe charity for 2011.

AFK helps to transform young lives by removing the barriers to independence, and offer family support services. In fact they try never to say no and will help in any way they can to enable disabled children and young people lead full and independent lives.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
