Teenage Cancer Trust
Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for the seven young people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer every day. We build specialist units within NHS hospitals bringing young people together to be treated by teenage cancer experts in a place designed just for them. We want every young person with cancer to have access to this specialist support, no matter where they live. Traditionally treated alongside children or elderly patients at the end of their lives, young people can feel extremely isolated during treatment, some never meeting another young person with cancer. Being treated alongside others their own age can make a huge difference to their whole experience. Teenage Cancer Trust also educates young people and health professionals about cancer to ensure a swift diagnosis and referral to specialist support. Cancer in young people is rare but we want young people to know the common signs and symptoms so they can seek medical advice if they are worried. We rely solely on donations to fund our vital work. You can help transform the lives of young people with cancer. Visit to find out how.
The Ellen Macarthur Cancer Trust
The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust takes young people aged between 8-24 sailing to help them regain their confidence, on their way to recovery from cancer. For more information please visit...

Debbie & Suzy's Tandem LEJOG's fundraising

My page:

We are Debbie and Suzy and we are cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats (LEJOG!) on a tandem between 7-19 June 2017

for two remarkable and wonderful causes, the Teenage Cancer Trust and Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.  Hover over their logos on the left to read about them.

Please sponsor us so that these two great charities can continue to help teenagers and families when they need it most.

Please donate if you can.

I’m Suzy and when my son was diagnosed with cancer, we knew that we had a mountain to climb and that he faced months of surgery and chemo.

The TCT was there at Newcastle Royal Victoria Institute Hospital from Day 1 offering practical help and advice. Their unit was full of fun and hope, and other teenagers and families in the same situation, just helping each other get through their day.

It was more like a cool flat than a hospital unit, with games, a kitchen and all the tech stuff that teenagers need to hang out.  I really love what the TCT do.  Following my son’s treatment hell, he joined the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust for an amazing week- again joining others ‘in the same boat’. He is doing fine now and so are we. We cannot thank these two charities more.  Please help us say thank you to them by sponsoring us.

I'm Debbie, and I’m joining my (current;-)) friend Suzy on the tandem. Having seen her go to hell and back,  I thought the least I could do is go to John O’Groats (but not back) with her.  I’ve had my own brush with cancer too, and dear mum died of it recently.   Mum knew she dying, but her spirit was  never crushed.  Her strength and courage is the thing I’ll always remember, cherish and be grateful for.  The magic of the two great charities that we are supporting is that they help teenagers be in their best possible spirits at the worst possible times. That is the reason I love and value their work. Whatever life throws at us it is our spirit that makes the difference.

Thanks for your donations, it means a lot to us and to all those young people out there with and recovering from cancer.

Lots of love

Debbie and Suzy
