Somerset Sight
If you are blind or visually impaired, then Somerset Sight can help you. We are a local charity established in 1920. Based in Taunton we cover the whole of Somerset. We support visually impaired people of all ages, helping them continue to lead a full and independent life. Loneliness and isolation are huge problems facing those with a visual impairment. Loss of independence and social exclusion often follow a diagnosis of sight loss. To counteract these problems, Somerset Sight arranges social afternoons and a variety of activities and provides transport to enable visually impaired people to meet others and learn new skills. If you or someone you know has a visual impairment or if you are a carer for a visually impaired person, the people at Somerset Sight are able to provide help and practical advice.

Somerset Sight & the Vitality Bath Half 2017

Fundraiser:
Somerset Sight

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/teamsomersetsight

A group of 13 runners are taking part in the Vitality Bath Half Marathon on the 12th of March 2017.
In the team there are 5 visually impaired runners taking part, some will be guided and others are running alone.

All money raised will support Somerset Sight, the local independent charity for sight impaired people.

Discovering you are losing your sight can be a devastating blow.  It can be a disorientating, scary and lonely time.  The team at Somerset Sight is here to provide support at the point of diagnosis and beyond.   Across Somerset there are estimated to be 19,000 people living with visual impairment. At least one in five of those people never leave their home alone.

Please help support Somerset Sight and the runners - 13.1 miles is a huge challenge and we wish them all the best!
