Royal Trinity Hospice
Royal Trinity Hospice is the UK’s oldest surviving hospice and was established in 1891. Trinity aims to provide excellent palliative care, including medical, emotional and practical support to any adult suffering from a terminal illness in central and south-west London. We aim to provide patients with a holistic care programme, free of charge here in the hospice or in a patient’s home, depending on where an individual wishes to spend their final days. We are here to help patients to live every moment and maintain as much independence as possible, and we assist their families and friends during such a challenging time. Trinity’s work is divided in to five main areas: - Community care to patients in their own homes and care and residential homes - Inpatient services for those whose needs cannot be met at home - Outpatient services - Family support for those close to our patients - Bereavement services

TGC supports Royal Trinity Hospice

Temple Garden Chambers

My page:

Temple Garden Chambers is very proud to be supporting the work of Royal Trinity Hospice throughout 2017.

As a thriving, successful set of Barristers’ Chambers, we want to do our bit to support our London community. We have chosen a local charity that provides hugely important support and care for those with a terminal illness. Trinity has a catchment area of some 750,000 people across 7 London Boroughs. It provides excellent palliative care, including medical, emotional and practical support to any adult suffering from a terminal illness. Its services help some 1,500 people every year and are completely free of charge, whether provided in the Hospice or in the patient’s home. With specialist nurses and doctors and a range of complimentary therapies, it does the most tremendous work to support its patients and their families, including reaching minority groups and those who historically have had poor access to palliative care services.

However, the cost of these services is some £12 million a year and currently less than 30% of that comes from the NHS. For the remainder, the Hospice is dependent on fundraising to maintain its current levels of care.

Temple Garden Chambers and its members will be holding a number of events to help raise funds for Trinity during 2017. When we put on free seminars for solicitors, similar events, or sponsored activities, we may invite contributions to be made on a wholly voluntary basis towards the Hospice through this page. We very much welcome any support that you feel able to give to the Hospice to help Royal Trinity fulfill its motto, “Living every moment”.
