Charity

The Daisy Garland
A family-run national children’s charity providing active support for children with drug-resistant epilepsy and their parents/carers. The charity was set up in memory of our daughter Daisy who tragically died at 6 years of age from SUDEP (sudden unexpected death in epilepsy patients). We provide NHS hospitals with ketogenic dietitians - a medically recognised and accepted way of treating drug resistant epilepsy. This diet is not widely available on the NHS due to lack of funding. We also provide grants for night-time breathing monitors to children with drug-resistant epilepsy.
Only 17 days to go!

Thank you for visiting my page.

My niece Poppy, has had uncontrolled epilepsy since she was 18 months old.

No matter how many drugs Poppy was placed on, nothing worked. The medications only gave her horrendous side effects however, In 2013 Poppy started the Ketogenic diet. This has been the most amazing opportunity she has ever been given, her behaviour and epilepsy changed allowing Karen, my sister to wean poppy off the medications she was addicted to.

The dietician was funded by the Daisy Garland charity and Karen, Chris and Poppy were given the most amazing level of care and support from Sara Garland. My sister, and many other families have been given endless support from this wonderful Charity to help children with Epilepsy. Not only do Daisy Garland fund dieticians across the UK,  they also provide grants for SATs monitors for children who have severe night time seizures. These monitors alarm when the child has a seizure and THEY SAVE CHILDRENS' LIVES. Please support this charity to make these SATs monitors available for children and their families that are desperate for a monitor to help reduce their risk of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy Patients).

They say an epileptic fit takes its toll on the body as much as running a matathon would! I will be running 26 miles a week for 26 weeks in support of the daisy garland!

Please help and support me through this while raising enough money to support The Daisy Garland help another family just like they have my sister. Thank you!
