Rainbow Trust Children's Charity
At Rainbow Trust Children's Charity we provide emotional and practical support for families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. With the help of the families who share their inspirational stories about the difference Rainbow Trust has made to their lives, we have been able to raise our profile and tell more people about the valuable work that we do. From the humble beginnings of two staff and a kitchen table to work from in 1986, Rainbow is now a national charity. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of staff and volunteers, Rainbow continues to grow year on year and makes progress towards achieving its vision that one day all terminally ill children and their families will have access to a Rainbow carer.

2,184 mile thru-hike on The Appalachian Trail

My page:

Hi, thanks for visiting my page.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Rainbow Trust Children's Charity. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

So what will I be doing to raise money for Rainbow Trust Children's Charity? From the end of March I will be heading out to America, Georgia specifically where a long distance trail called The Appalachian Trail starts on the top of Springer Mountain and heads north for 2,185.9 miles through 14 States of America and finishes on top of Mount Katahdin in Maine.

I will be thru-hiking this entire trail carrying what I need on my back about 30lbs, camping and cooking in the woods and probably being eaten by a bear along the way. This will take me roughly 5 million footsteps to complete (no joke) which is about 5 to 6 month hiking.

If you would like to follow my journey you can find it here thruhiker2013

Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provides emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. Their help is immediate and available for families 24 hours a day, providing the whole family with tailored high quality support for as long as they need it.
This support comes from Family Support Workers who perform a role most people couldn’t imagine. They maintain a sense of normality for the family by helping with hospital trips, performing household duties, taking the siblings to school and in many cases providing care during the final stages of a child’s life, helping with funeral arrangements and bereavement support.
Rainbow Trust relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and through the generosity of their supporters they currently help around 1,200 families a year. Their vision is that one day all terminally ill children will have access to a Rainbow Family Support Worker.
I thank you again for visiting my page, please donate whatever you can afford to give to this fantastic charity.
