Tikki Pedalers's Heartfelt Thanks!
Welcome to supporting us in our madness! We are, in turn, supporting Vikki in hers! Vikki has marfan syndrome (a connective tissue disorder) and this has led to her having both her mitral and her aortic valves replaced with mechanical ones ... now she ticks in double time!
Vikki had her mitral valve replaced in November 2007 and her aortic valve replaced in September 2011. To give her something to aim for as she gets herself back to fitness she decided to sign up for the London-Brighton night ride at the end of May 2012. We all decided that the best way to encourage her in this was to join in with her!!
Vikki can testify at first hand the massive improvements in care for those who have open heart surgery in the last 4 years and wants to show her appreciation to the British Heart Foundation for their research and education! Long may it continue!!

We will make updates here as we all prepare ... bikes and lycra have been purchased, fluro tutu's are ready and our group training sessions have started ... both in London and in Nottingham! The famous five approach suits us ... bring on the homemade cake and lashings of ginger beer!! Anyone got a dog we can borrow ;-)
