YHA FAB Cycle Ride

With your help, we can help bereaved Service families have a fantastic break in the summer of 2010. In the summer of 2009, 25 families who had recently suffered the loss of a loved one in the services were able to have a break. They stayed for a week at either YHA Coverack in Cornwall or YHA Whitby in Yorkshire, a week crammed full of activities, great food and some rest and relaxation. The families walked, talked, laughed, rafted, abseiled, zip-wired, went climbing and cried with each other. One mother said, ‘After something so devastating, children go into their own world. But now I’ve got them back. All the counseling in the world could not have done this.’ Now with your help more families will be able to share the experience, enjoying adventurous activities on a holiday with FAB. A team of 30 dedicated cyclists will be riding 650 miles in 7 days starting at YHA Coverack in Cornwall to YHA Whitby in Yorkshire.

Thanks for visiting my sponsor page and an even bigger thank you to everyone who has sponsored me to far.

If you want to keep up to date with other events and training around this cause then please click here to join a Facebook group I have created.

So I have agreed to do this mental 650 mile bike ride from Coverack (in Cornwall) to Whitby (up in 't Yorkshire).

It's going to be really hard work both training and doing the ride itself so you may think I am mad, but it's for a good cause, to take bereaved forces families away for a week on an activity filled camp to give them some "time out" that they more than deserve.

So please sponsor me to help these families and to make all this hard work and training worthwhile.
