Macmillan Cancer Support
At Macmillan, we know cancer can affect everything. Your body, your relationships, your money, everything. But Macmillan is here to help people live life, no matter what. We give you the support you need to hold on to who you are and what’s important. But right now, we can’t reach everyone who needs us. Almost half of us will get cancer, and we need your help to make sure that people get the support they need to face one of the toughest fights of their lives. Life with cancer is still life -let’s help people live it. We are a charity registered in England and Wales (261017), Scotland (SCO39907) and the Isle of Man (604).
British Lung Foundation
We are the UK's lung charity and we are here for every one of them, whatever their condition. Lung disease can be frightening and debilitating. We offer hope and support at every step, so that no one has to face it alone. We promote greater understanding of lung disease and we campaign for positive change in the nation's lung health. We fund vital research, so that new treatments and cures can help to save lives. We are the British Lung Foundation. Leading the fight against lung disease.
Prostate Cancer UK
Prostate Cancer UK fights to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. We support men and provide vital information. We find answers by funding research into causes and treatments. And we lead change, raising the profile of the disease and improving care. We believe that men deserve better.
Claire House Children's Hospice
Claire House Children's Hospice offers respite and care to children and young people with life limiting medical conditions, as well as support for the entire family. Thank you for checking out our Just Giving page and for the support you've given to your local children's hospice.
Alexandra Bastedo (champions) Animal Sanctuary Limited
The aims of the ABC Animal Sanctuary are to rescue abandoned animals and animals in distress, to provide them with the care and protection they need and, wherever possible, to find them a new home where they can be happy, safe and properly cared for. In some instances, where the animals are very old, need permanent special care or have personality disorders through ill-treatment then they are guaranteed care, protection and a home with us at the Sanctuary for the rest of their natural lives. The Sanctuary frequently assists other large animal rescue centres by accepting animals in need from them to re-home and we always have a large number of cats needing good homes. The Sanctuary provides practical tuition and hands-on experience for students taking animal care courses, those taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and A-level science students planning careers in veterinary medicine. We frequently teach visiting schoolchildren about the importance of caring for animals and give students of animal husbandry hands-on experience with different kinds of animals. We also accept volunteers who are recuperating after brain damage and caring for the animals can be very beneficial to people suffering from depression. In all we have over 60 amazing volunteers who, between them, help care for the animals seven days a week, fifty two weeks a year. Even on Christmas day! No-one who works for the Sanctuary is paid and therefore every penny raised is spent on the welfare of our animals. The ABC Animal Sanctuary has no secure funding and depends entirely on public donations for it's existence.
