Nash is off and running!

My page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/vickinash

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. For those of you who know me well then yes I appear to have signed up to run a half marathon. Spurred on by what appears to be a growing Nash family trend of marathon runners in the Nash household I thought i should step up to plate and join in. Well, kind of, with a half marathon.

Now as many of you will know the furthest I've run in recent years is 5k - once when I was dragged round as the weakest link in a three legged approach; and once when I'm pretty sure the sambuca drank the night before spirited me round.

So bearing in mind the fact that I can't run for toffee and I'm already behind on training, the fear has clearly set in. However, I have it on very good authority (from the marvellous Mind fundraising team) that fear is one of the most potent motivators so it's all good.

And why put myself through this? Well that's the simplest answer in the world - because I am doing it for Mind, a blooming marvellous charity and I should know because I work there. One in four people will develop mental health problems during their lifetime so if you're reading this and thinking "well it hasn't affected me" think again.

And if you're not sure why then see for yourself by watching the 'This is Mind' video on this page. When someone tells you that the organisation you work for saved their life then you know you are doing something right!

So be good sports, donate some money to an extremely good cause and help me keep on the training track. I promise to keep you updated with how red a person's face can actually get!
