Salams/Peace/Hello.

This year we have decided to up the game and do various challanges for our chosen cause..... WATER 4 LIFE.

Challenges include:

1. Liverpool 10k Tunnel Run... 11th JUNE 2012

2. 40km Bike Ride (Ashborne to Parsley Hay and back)

3. Sky Dive 15,000 FT (Yes voluntarily jumping out from a plane?!) 

---REAL LIFE STORY---

Niakale lost six children because she didn’t have clean water. She was forced to walk miles to find safe water just so the family could stay alive. One day she embarked on an arduous journey to find water and when she returned home, she found two of her children dead. Their story breaks our hearts, but together we can do something to prevent this happening all around the world.

Water solutions

If an area is experiencing severe water shortages, for £300 Islamic Relief can build a safe water system, or even better they can build a complete rainwater harvesting system for £3,800, which protects an entire community from future droughts.

A water solution can be the difference between life & death:

  • £180 can provide clean water for 3 families

  • £450 can help 5 families harvest rice twice a year

  • £1350 can support 15 families to earn a regular income through vegetable gardens

  • £30,000 can build a micro dam to help an entire community
