US Route 66 Cycling Challenge
Hello, and thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
The plan has been made. The project has been decided. And the preparations have already started!
Together with my best friend Kees, I am planning to ride as much as possible of the famous US Route 66 by bicycle, before my 50th birthday in 2016. The road goes from Chicago to Los Angeles, covering some 2,500 miles. We will aim to cover that distance in the space of about four weeks and are hoping to complete the challenge in 2012, circumstances permitting.
We are undertaking this challenge in order to raise vital cash for Cancer Research UK, so that they can fund more research projects in order to find cures for the terrible disease that is cancer. During our lives, one in three of us will get cancer. In the UK alone, two million of us are living with it. We are all affected by cancer.
Through Virgin Money Giving, you can "sponsor" us in our effort and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the charity. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. Please tick the Gift Aid box if you are a UK based tax payer.
