Charity

Chickenshed
Chickenshed is a charity and a theatre company. At its core is an inclusive ethos, a belief that anyone can thrive in an environment where everyone is welcome. To continue our pioneering, inclusive work with children and young people, Chickenshed needs to raise over £3m every year. "I'ts an impossibility that has been made so possible, it's overwhelming" Bob Hoskins Because Chickenshed welcomes everyone so many of our 700+ members are from groups who would otherwise be denised such opportunities. Our waiting list regularly tops 2,000. Of our membership 19% are classified disabled, 30% are from ethnic minorities, and around 20% are from economically deprived backgrounds. And the rest are those who don't have a label placed upon them. What's 'usual' about this is that these statistics mirror those in society. What's 'unusual' is that Chickenshed is the only place where all young people can come together in this way. "I've learnt that it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, it's what's going on inside that counts." Children's Theatre Member At Chickenshed 'it's the difference that makes the art' Thank you from everyone at Chickenshed for your support

Thank you for visiting the TEAM WILLERTON page!

Me and my Dad, Bruce, are running the LONDON MARATHON together this April!

I'm absolutely terrified as I have NEVER ran a marathon or even a half marathon at this point! Daddy Willerton however is experienced marathon runner and IRONMAN so I think he will be dragging me across the finish line :)

We are running to help raise funds for the Chickenshed Theatre School - I personally always found massive comfort in my drama classes at school, having been badly bullied - it was the chance to escape the world and dive into dream world where anything is possible (Not that I've come out of that bubble!) Chickenshed give young people from all walks of life the opportunity to study and learn through theatre, developing their confidence and social interactions. 20% of their students are registered disabled, and as a family we are massive supporters of organisations that give positive opportunities to those with learning difficulties. For more information please visit http://www.chickenshed.org.uk

We would appreciate all donations big or small!

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.

Sending all our love and thanks!
