With Virgin Money Giving you can make a donation by sponsoring a friend or giving money directly to charity.
Here’s how to make a donation by sponsoring a friend:
Click the ‘sponsor me’ button on your friend’s fundraising page. (Check out our guide if you need help
finding their page first.)
Choose the amount you’d like to donate, and whether you’d like to pay by credit or debit card, or PayPal. The minimum donation is £1 and you can choose to leave a message for your friend too. When you’ve done this, just click ‘Next’.
If you choose to pay by PayPal, simply follow the PayPal login screens, then go to step 5 of this help guide.
If you’re already registered with Virgin Money Giving just sign in. We’ll use the details you’ve already given us, so you can jump to Step 6.
If haven’t registered with Virgin Money Giving yet, just click ‘next’.
We’ll now need to take the details of the card you’re using for the donation. We also need an email address so we can send you confirmation when the payment has been made. We won’t use the email address for anything else.
If you pay tax in the UK, the charity you’re supporting can claim the tax back from the Government as
Gift Aid – so your donation is worth even more. Choose the statement that best applies to you, then click ‘next’.
If the charity can claim Gift Aid, you’ll need to fill in a Gift Aid declaration.
Finally, check through everything you’ve told us – if you need to change anything, click on the ‘change’ button and update the details. Don’t forget to tick the terms and conditions box, and then click ‘make donation’.
Your donation will now be confirmed. The payment will show on your statement as ‘Virgin Money Giving’.
If you haven’t registered with us, we’ll offer you the chance to do it now. It means we can save your details, making it much quicker next time you donate
