I’m lucky to have some very familiar faces join me – and our 100 Virgin runners - to run the Virgin London Marathon to raise as much money as we can for some great charities as Team 2010.
Team 2010 has a great mix of familiar faces from the world of TV, film, music and athletics - they are also barking mad as running 26.2 miles will not be easy! But with 39,000 other wonderful people running alongside us I'm sure we'll make many new friends along the way!
This will be my first marathon and it’s fair to say I won’t be breaking any records on the day - I'll have my fingers crossed the whole time simply praying my knees will get me round!
The team is really excited about the adventure ahead, hoping to raise lots of money and have as much fun as possible. It’s a lot of hard work and I’m sure there will be a few blisters along the way! We’ve all started our training, and we are very privileged to have the champion marathon runner Tegla Loroupe on hand to help us train; so we are in good hands.
Ricky has pledged to show us some of his best Strictly moves on the way round - to keep our hips loose... Michelle has promised not to talk about her up and coming wedding for the whole 26.2 miles! The gorgeous Jenni I'm sure will be tweeting the whole way as well as trying to secure interviews with any hunky men she ends up running beside! Natalie can lead a sing-along to take our minds off the pain! And mine is to just keep on running - note to self must watch Forrest Gump again before race day!
