Hi all.

I've been lucky enough to be running as part of Richard Branson's team this year. I'm running for Virgin Unite / Make-a-wish foundation.

I'm really looking forward to the challenge, quite nervous aswell.

Nice to meet everyone.

All the best
Peter.

Hi

My first Marathon. - What was i thinking. My mom had a stroke early 2010 so i am running for The Stroke Association. Anyone else running for them?

I'm worried not gonna be able to raise the money pledged - does this really matter anyone know?

I have ran 13 miles so far, was ok just so cold!!!!!!!!! keep plodding on hey!

Anyone know how far is recommended to run - i know not to do a complete marathon. I'm not doing the recommended training plan i'm sorry i do not have time to run everyday of the week so i got 2 - 3times for a fairly decent session then twice a month for a biggy.

Soz about all the questions

Hi My name is Annie Foulds and I am running for Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.

Personal and intense.

On Sunday 17 April 2011, I will be running the London Marathon to raise vital funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. Why, because our son 'Jack' was diagnosed with a very rare and dangerous pancreatic cancer. He is only 10 years old, and such a wonderful boy!

Without the help of the dedicated team at Great Ormond Street Hospital, our son 'Jack' would not be here today! The wonderful people and facilities at Great Ormond Street make it a very special place indeed, where families can feel relaxed and secure.

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity needs to raise over £50 million each year to make sure the hospital remains the world-class pioneering institution it is today. Support from fundraising events like this helps them to buy vital equipment, fund pioneering research and most importantly rebuild and refurbish some of their hospital site. This redevelopment will allow them to replace inconvenient , cramped outdated wards with new facilities where parents like us can sleep alongside their child and will mean that children have more space in which to get well!

Please, visit my page sponsorship page and make a donation, it will make an enormous difference to so many children and their families, now and forever!

Thank you so much - big kiss!

Thank you so much for visiting my page.

Hi
My name is John and I am running the Marathon for the first time. I am running for Crimestoppers charity.
I am a novice to any thing over 10k, which I have only run once in an organised event.
I began training properly for this in January and have run 180 miles to date, including two 20 mile runs which I ran alone in 3 hours a time.
I am excited to be part of this great event and the only concern I have is hydration, as this is what I struggle with on my long runs.
I began a programme but stopped as it was not pushing me hard enough. I have to run 5.25 miles to work daily and this was too far down the plan for me to complete.
Good luck to everyone who is running and maybe see a few of you at the Expo or on the course. I am coming down to London on the Thursday to register.
John

I am running in this years Virgin London Marathon for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

This place is very close to our families heart.

Our youngest son was born with a unilateral cataract and as a result of this has minimal sight in his left eye.

GOSH have been fantastic and we make regular visits for tests and check-ups.It is now my turn to do something for the hospital and raise as much as possible.

Please feel free to make a donation, whether big or small, it all helps!

I will be running the London Marathon for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Breast Cancer will affect 1 in 8 women during their life. This is a statistic which I was amazed to learn after an employee experienced breast cancer at the age of 37 and raised my awareness.

Please visit my page and read my blog about my efforts and training and please support me if you can, so many people are affected by Breast cancer so help me support Breakthrough and follow this link:

Thank you.

Hi

The day before th entries for charities closed I decided to run the marathon and raise money for Get Kids Going! This will be my first attempt at the London marathon or any marathon for that matter. I've completed a half marathon 18 years ago and crammed in my training in 8 weeks for this. Money raising is a bit slow though.
