Hi - is there a way of viewing the history of sponsors inc. their details e.g. email address (especially useful if they chose to remain anonymous on the website)

Also is there the ability to email all those that have sponsored so I can email them updates?

Regards

Neil

Hi Neil

Thanks for your message

Unfortunately if a donor chooses to be anonymous when they make their donation we’re not able to share their details with you. However, if you set up the ‘thank you’ message in your fundraising page options then we will send all your sponsors an email thanking them for their donation.

Your suggestion about follow up emails is a really good idea, and definitely something that will help your friends, family, and sponsors to feel involved in your fundraising activity, and might even encourage repeat donations. We’ve also had a few ideas on what we could do in this area, and will add your feedback to the list.

Suggestions, ideas and feedback is always gratefully received, so if you have any more either post in the forum or email feedback@virginmoneygiving.com.

Hi Antony,

I appreciate that if someone wants to sponsor us anonymously that we can't know who they are. However, if they don't I'd like to know who is supporting me. As far as I can see I am able to find the latest sponsor and the greatest sponsor only. Am I missing something?

Cheers,

John

Hi John

At the top of your fundraising page you'll see your totaliser which shows you how much you've raised and who the latest and largest donation was received from.

Scrolling down your page, past the information about your charity is your list of sponsors. This will show you the names of everyone who has donated to your page and how much, along with their comment.

The only names that aren't shown are the 'Anonymous' donations.

Hope that helps

If I remember correctly, when I signed up to VMG there was at least one check-box saying "do you wish to be contacted by VMG and its partners." That box, or similar could be added to donors, asking them "do they wish to be contactable by email by event organisers."

Despite the existence of that question VMG could write automatically on behalf of an organiser, saying "the event organiser wishes to contact you, here is their email address. Contact them if you wish to progress this."

Either or both of these methods should solve the problem while correctly addressing data privacy issues with minimal effort.

Hi Andy

Since this thread was first started we have since introduced that option.

When a donor makes a donation to your page we ask them if they'd be happy to pass this information onto the fundraiser. If they do their name and email address is shown in your fundraiser account (even if they've chosen to make their donation anonymously.

Hope that helps
