Hi, I'm part of a team event with an overall target to raise for our charity.
As part of this I will be doing my own events as well, which I would like to promote separately, but would like the fundraising target to also show up on the team page. Is there any way of linking the two together?
Thanks
Becky

Hi Becky

Thanks for your post,

If you were to set up an individual fundraising page, separate to your team page, you can collect funds for the events you’re doing individually.

As a member of the team, you’ll be able to access the team page to make changes. Here you could add the amount you’ve raised on your page as ‘offline fundraising’, this way it will be included in the team’s overall total.

Many thanks,

Hi there,

I know this post is quite old but wondered if someone could clarify the above.
I am fundraising with my boyfriend and our overall team target is £600. We want to set up individual pages of £300 each to email to people who don't know us as a couple, but we want to be able to link this back to our team page which we will bw sending out to family. Is it possible to combine our individual page with the team page in the end?

I am just worried that the website will be expecting us to raise £1,200 instead of just £600 if we manage the fundraising in this way.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Lena

Hi Lena

It's a good question and there are a couple of ways to go about it.

Option 1:
You could each create personal pages, and split the target between you both. You'll have your own page address, and your friends and family will be able to donate to one page or another, depending who they know. Set the target on each page as £300 so you're not double counting your target.

On each others page you can add some words in the 'about me' section that explains you're doing it together, and you can put a link to each others fundraising page, you cold also put the 'Grand Total' of what you've raised together in the description.

Option 2:
You can create a team page and add both yourself and your boyfriend to the page. Add a photo of you both, and in the 'About Me' area describe that you're fundraising together, perhaps add a little message from each of your individually as quotes, which could be your personal appeal to your friends.

You'll have one page, with one target of £600.

The way a team page works is you get a team web address for it, but also you're personal fundraising account web addresses will point to it.

So for example, all of the following page addresses will link to your team page.

http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/individual1
http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/individual2
http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/teams/teampage

You may choose to give out your own individual page addresses to the people you know, so they recognise it as being you, but ultimately they will 'redirect' to the team page.

Hope that helps Lena, if you have any more questions let me know
