Hi there,
I would really like to delete the biggest donation feature on the ticker. I think it is embarrassing for everybody to see who has donated the most and make a big deal out of it. Completely the wrong attitude for fundraising. Could somebody please please let me know how I delete this. I'm considering using another giving page if it cannot be deleted as many of friends have already commented on it.
Thanks very much in advance

Hi Kate
Unfortunately it's not possible to remove the "Biggest Donor" item from your thermometer. We'll look into this and see if we can make a change in a future update to Virgin Money Giving to allow this to be optional.
Thanks

I Agree with Kate, I think this is rather tacky, and could be off putting for some donors. It was almost sufficient motivation to use one of the other fund raising sites..unfortunately my charity wasn't registered on it though..Please remove it, or give us the option to blank it out.

Just add my pennyworth. The option to turn off the biggest donor would be welcome for us too. John

Hi John
Thanks for your comments, we've received a few pieces of feedback on this specific feature of the fundraising page. We're keeping an eye on all comments and will look to make a change at a future release of our website.

Unfortunately I do agree with all the other posters. At the very least there should be the option to turn the 'Biggest Donation' feature off.

I totally agree that the Biggest donor notification is not in the spirit of giving. Please remove (or add the option to remove) ASAP

Hi. I am a first time user of virgin money giving, and I must agree with the other posters. The biggest donor item is completely unnecessary and makes me feel very uncomfortable for my sponsors. Please give users the option to remove it.
Thanks

Hi Tim
Thanks for your feedback, this is something we've been asked for before and is on the list for a future update to the Virgin Money Giving Website.
We'll update in the forum when we've added the feature to the website.

I mentioned this to VMG before they launched - I agree that it can put people off.
However, if the feature can't be turned off, here are my suggestions:
1) If you know someone super generous, perhaps you can ask them for a cheque etc instead - gift aid etc can still be claimed, and you can add this to your offline total.
2) If someone's put a large donation on, you could include in your description that all donations from 1p to £1,000,000 are welcome and equally valued.

My vote goes for removal of this feature. It is perhaps nice if all donors are relatively equal. I cannot believe after the initial post this feature is still fixed. Come on VMG, pull your finger out this is putting off donations.
