One of my fundraisers raised a good question about donations that are anonymous, and should he not be allowed to at least see the names of all people that have donated.
His main concern being follow up on requests that I have sent for sponsorship and not wanting to chase anyone who has already given him money.
I guess some people that donate may not want the fundraiser to see who has donated for whatever reason, and many will not want their information on the public page which is fair enough, but I do think that each fundraiser should at least be able to see the names of who has donated.
Can this be implemented?
Thanks,
Ashley

Hi Ashley
Thanks for your feedback.
Being able to contact people who sponsor you, and thank them personally if they donate anonymously is a good suggestion, and a couple of fundraisers have asked for it now.
I've added it to the list of enhancements we're looking at to see if we can add it to a future update to the website.

I wondered if there have been any developments in this area. I've had a few sponsors come up as anonymous, I knew who some of them were as they mentioned going to the site, when I asked why they appeared anonymous they said they just assumed their name would come up. But I have since had several other sponsors going anonymous and am now trying to work out who they are so I can keep bugging people who haven't sponsored me, while not irritating those that have made the effort!

Hi Vertiy
We're currently working on a change to the pages people go through when making a donation to your fundraising page. This will encourage people to leave their name instead of becoming anonymous.
This will be part of the next update to our website, and will be live shortly.
We're also looking into a way of allowing fundraisers to contact people who donate through their fundraising account.
I'll post back in this forum with more updates as I have them

Hi Antony,
Any update on this at all yet, or still a work in progress? I have just done the British 10k today and wanted to send an update email to everyone that sponsored me, but I was surprised to see that I can't so not sure how I tell them really.
Regards,
Ashley

Hi Ashley
Congratulations on completing the British 10k. As Anthony says, we are making some changes in the next release of the website to ensure that less people default to leave an anonymous donation, this is coming very soon.
We are also looking at how we can further improve the way donors contacts are captured - to enable fundraisers to email all their donors after their event finishes. This is likely to be in a future release.
Thanks
James

Hi, is there an update to this yet?
I ask as I have switched from the Just giving website to VirginMoneyGiving and am having the same problem Ashley was having.
I have a number of sponsors who have donated and have no idea who they are. Subsequently, I do not know who to keep chasing.
Apologies, but this is not a problem I had with JustGiving, as there donors could remain anonymous from the public domain but yet visible to the account holder.
As I commend your efforts in doing this, as it stands this issue is a major concern going forward from a fund raisers perspective!
Thanks

Hi Muhit
Thanks for your post,
We’ve added a feature called ‘see my donors’ to fundraiser accounts. Here you can see your donor’s details and see who has donated from the people you’ve contacted.
To check this out, sign into your account and click ‘see my donors’ on the left side menu, followed by the fundraising page name.

Sean, Thank you for your prompt reply.
I am still seeing 'Anonymous' under Donor name for alot of my donations even after following your instructions.
Is there a way for me to see the names of my 'Anonymous' doners?
Many thanks

Hi Muhit
With the ‘see my donors’ feature, we’ve also enhanced the donation process. Donors are asked whether they’d like to remain anonymous on the fundraising page and later asked whether they’d like to remain anonymous to the fundraiser.
If the donor is showing as ‘anonymous’ in the ‘see my donors’ section, then they’ve opted to remain anonymous to you too.
Many thanks,
Sean
