Cycle trip from London to Amsterdam

My girlfriend and I are not really serious cyclists. We live in London and would typically only cycle from The Docklands up to Camden on the weekend OR maybe down to Richmond Park at the most.

We were planning on spending some time in Amsterdam and thought that it would be a good idea to raise some money for the Red Cross while we cycled there. The Tsunami victims of the March/April 2011 earthquake really touched our hearts. There are several thousand survivors who have been left with nothing.

Organising the trip was quite a lot of fun. We used http://www.routeyou.com/home.en to check out the topography of the trip. Mel was cycling on a Dawes Dutchess which is note really a touring bike so we had to choose a flat route.

The selection of Lille in France to Amsterdam was perfect. We took the Eurostar to Lille and then cycled through the beautiful cities of Bruge and Antwerp. You can read more about our trip and see pictures and video links from our blogspot http://london2amsterdam4japan.blogspot.com/ .

We highly recommend doing a European Road trip as a charity cycle event. It was a real adventure and great memories for a couple to share.
