LCRCares COVID-19 Community Support Fund
Why we need your help
The coronavirus outbreak is having a devastating impact on communities throughout the Liverpool City Region.
Can you help?
We’re encouraging any individuals or businesses who might be in a position to support, to donate and to help those most affected.
The money raised will be distributed to local organisations who are providing essential support to communities such as:
- Foodbanks
- Food/care package delivery to vulnerable people self-isolating
- Delivery of services and projects supporting the most vulnerable, such older people e.g. a telephone support/friendship service or delivering online activities to help reduce isolation
- Emotional and mental health support
- Financial Inclusion, support to access benefits and debt advice
The Community Foundation for Merseyside – which has distributed more than £40million to grassroots community causes over 20 years – is managing all donations received on behalf of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram, ensuring they reach the most vulnerable people affected by the coronavirus.
The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority kickstarted the fund with an initial £200,000 donation and separately, more than £1.7m has been contributed by the National Emergencies Trust. This is being held separately by the Community Foundation for Merseyside for distribution.
The LCR Cares Virgin Money Giving appeal platform is an online giving option which has been established so the people of the Liverpool City Region can also easily contribute, if they can, to the immense need of the most vulnerable in our community.
