Act4Africa COVID-19 Appeal
Why we need your help
Help us protect communities living in poverty from the impact of COVID-19.
Like many countries fighting COVID-19, Uganda has been in some form of lock-down for almost a year. For those living in poverty, lockdown is a death sentence. Families are starving, unable to buy food without their meagre income.
On top of this some of the girls supported by Act4Africa were hit by devastating floods in 2020, and remain homeless after storms decimated hospitals, homes and crops.
The situation is still desperately hard for many in rural Uganda. That’s why we still need your help to support our community during the ongoing pandemic: to bring clean water, food aid and health education to those who need it most.
To reach out to those who think they’ve been forgotten.
Please donate now and help us save lives.
Access to clean water
We are working with rural communities to provide sustainable access to clean water and providing information on the importance of hygiene in reducing the spread of infectious deseases.
Vital Food Aid
Act4Africa are working to provide emergency food aid to families who need it most.
Public Health Education and PPE
In poverty-stricken rural communities there is a dangerous information gap regarding the coronavirus. Here, harmful myths are spread in the absence of knowledge.
Act4Africa’s Ugandan team is experienced in engaging deeply with rural communities to deliver health education. We have delivered life-saving information to the community as well as PPE to rural health centres, but there is an urgent need to do more.
Continued Access to Education
One of Act4Africa's main aims is to improve access to education for girls and children under 6. With schools currently closed, we continue to deliver homelearning packs to our beneficiaries, together with hygiene materials and food for their families.
Act4Africa are at the frontline of action on the COVID-19 pandemic in Uganda. We are a small charity and work on a tight budget. Any donation will help us keep our small team employed, maintaining critical services and respond rapidly to the growing need during this crisis.
