The 26 Challenge

The 26 Challenge

Why we need your help

As you may have been reading in the news, Charities stand to lose £4 billion in 12 weeks from coronavirus. In response to this, a national campaign (The 2.6 Challenge) has launched to support the UK’s Charities and BeyondAutism are getting a team together to take part!

The 2.6 challenge an amazing initiative designed for all charities to take advantage of in order to receive urgent income. It’s already all over BBC1 News and is likely to go national with huge support from media, businesses, celebrities and 1,000s of charities getting stuck in.

All funds donated for BeyondAutism's 2.6 Challenge will help us to keep empowering children and young adults with autism and help us make a significant difference to hundreds of families.

What is the 2.6 challenge?

Take part in any activity on your own or with your household that relates to the numbers 2.6 or 26. It could be anything from doing a 2.6 mile run around your living room, baking 26 cakes, hula hooping 26 times, or having a ‘cheer’ pong competition with 26 cups. Please make sure to take care of yourself and maintain social distancing guidelines during challenges!

Who do we know is taking on the challenge so far?

  • Our wonderful BeyondAutism students Liam, Emily, Johnny and Harry will be walking, scooting and skating their way to 2.6 miles with their families. Connor is even taking on 26 different challenges over 26 days! Students have also been completing 26 goals scored, and 26 keepy ups on the parachute as well as 26 Yoga poses!
  • Our parent governor, Sarah, has run 12.6km
  • Our charity team will be partaking in everything from planking for 2.6 minutes, 26 origami creatures to 26 mile bike rides.
  • Our Early Years families and staff are taking part in 26 minute Take That singathons, singing 26 nursery rhymes, head shaves, and completing 26 illustrations
  • Our teaching team are taking part in challenges from 26 minutes of hoola hooping, to 26 headstands and 2.6 minutes of dancing
  • Our friends and colleagues at one of our coroporate partners, Octopus Giving & Octopus Labs, are taking part in a huge array of challenges from 2.6 hour walks and 2.6 mile rows, and 126km cycles!
