11:00am, Friday 26th JUNE to
11:00am, Saturday 27th JUNE 2020
(We have selected a specific 24 hour period in order that we can generate a campaign on social media to enable participants to encourage one another and hopefully attract attention to the work of the charity. If you are unable to join us for the specified 24 hours, please feel free to complete your challenges in a convenient 24-hour time period, still remembering to post your pictures to social media with suggested tags, hashtags and links to giving pages)
Can you help raise vital funds for Street Soccer Academy?
It is around this time every year that Street Soccer Academy host their annual fundraiser, Soccer 24. Due to the restrictions imposed under the current Coronavirus crisis it is not possible to host the football-based event this year, severely impacting the charity’s fundraising potential for 2020. No doubt this will be disappointing news for those who regularly support us through this event and doubly so for those who enjoy the challenge of our 24-hour football marathon….. But, never fear, we are asking our supporters to come up with their own 24-hour challenge, select 24 different one-hour tasks and participate in LOCKDOWN 24 all in aid of our charitable work.
What is Lockdown 24?
• LOCKDOWN 24 is a 24-hour fundraising campaign.
• Fundraisers undertake 24 x 1 hour challenges of their choice in the comfort of their own home or garden
• Participants raise funds via the event’s official Virgin Giving website, in aid of Street Soccer Academy, Charity no.1140394
• All funds raised by LOCKDOWN 24 go towards the ongoing work of the charity in their work with isolated individuals.
What challenges should I do?
It really is up to you. To make LOCKDOWN 24 accessible to all the challenges can be anything. We want to see hours filled with sport/fitness sessions to more sedate hobby and games challenges. We don’t even mind if some of your hours are filled with conversation or descriptive writing. All we ask is you spend a full 24 hours with active hearts and minds, raising much needed funds to help Street Soccer Academy in their work with the ‘hard to reach’ in our communities.
During the event we are asking participants to record their achievements by posting a photo or video hourly to social media tagging Street Soccer Academy, adding a link to their giving page and using
Street Soccer Academy accounts

2 Start Fundraising
Forward the link to your personalised giving page to family and friends to allow them to donate to your personal target, by debit card. (For this event no other fundraising method will be used). Don’t forget the link can be included in emails and all forms of Social media.
3 Plan your 24 One-hour challenges
Ahead of the event day plan a schedule of the 24 hourly challenges (tasks) you will undertake. You will have seen many videos posted on social media by people carrying out any number of fun challenges. We want you to be creative, but remember to stay safe. The challenges can be sport or fitness related, linked to a hobby you may have or even, you learning a new skill or demonstrating a skill you already have. So lets see you do an hour of keepy-uppies, a session on a treadmill or even an hour’s chipping practice. Show us your linguistic skills by posting a clip of you in a one-hour Spanish lesson, bake a cake or make a healthy high protein meal. Anything from an hour’s chat on Zoom to time spent taking your frustrations out on a punch bag. The choice is yours.
4 The day of the event
Starting at 11:00am on Friday 26th June you will start the first of your 24 hourly challenges and consecutively move on to the next hourly challenge until you have completed all 24 at 11:00am on Saturday 27th June. At the end of each hour we are asking all fundraisers to post pics or videos to Twitter and Instagram, using the appropriate tags, hashtags and links to fundraising pages, to encourage others involved in the event, attract attention to the work of the charity and additional donors.
