Break The Cycle 2020
Why we need your help
Unfortunately, due to restrictions on social distancing we have had to take the decision to cancel Break The Cycle 2020 as a mass event starting and finishing at Ashton Gate Stadium, which has left us with a rather large fundraising gap.
The COVID-19 outbreak has had a profound effect on virtually all aspects of society, especially the charity sector. Restrictions on movement and social distancing have severely affected our ability to deliver programmes and generate revenue in a time when the demand for our services are at an all time high.
Break The Cycle is the primary fundraising event of Bristol Sport Foundation and utterly critical for the continued work of its main beneficiary, Bristol Bears Community Foundation and so to this end, we are staging an adapted version of Break The Cycle 2020 that everyone can get behind.
Throughout the whole of June leading up to Sunday 28th June 2020 (date of the event) we will be asking you all to cycle a minimum of 30 miles, either at home on a trainer or on a course of your choice, whilst following Government guidance and maintaining social distancing.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
Break The Cycle relies heavily on support from partners, sponsors and the attraction of using Ashton Gate Stadium and so we will be cutting the entry fee to just £5 to support the on-going work of the charities based at Ashton Gate Stadium.
TO GET INVOLVED, SIMPLY:
- Get on the bike and cycle a minimum distance of 30miles*
- Nominate three people on social media to do the same (using #BreakTheCycle2020)
- Donate £5 on this page
* Please ensure that you follow Government guidance and observe social distancing rules whilst cycling.
In return, we will be giving away fantastic ‘money can’t buy’ sporting prizes, for the highest individual fundraiser, one for the highest fundraising team for of 4 people and then a fantastic variety of ‘raffle’ prizes, selected at random from everyone who has donated £5.
We would like to whole-heartedly thank you for your support of the event, we need it now more than ever.
