TogetherWeCan - sensory room fundraising

Like all charities, Rainbow Living is facing a significant drop in fundraising income due to COVID-19. Events have been cancelled but our work continues - but we need your help to make this happen! Our new fundraising campaign #TogetherWeCan aims to raise £10,000 towards our current project - development of a sensory room to support tenants' health and wellbeing.

There are lots of ways you can get involved - read on to find out more.

1. Donate 

We know these are uncertain times and any gift would be hugely appreciated; every penny donated will go towards developing a bespoke sensory environment to support our tenants. 

• You can make a one-off donation on this page, or
• join Rainbow Living's Monthly Giving Programme

2. Fundraise 

It may not be possible to get out and join an organised event but you can take on a physical (or other) challenge, either at home or as part of your daily exercise.

• Run, walk or jog, on a treadmill or outside around where you live; take on a 5k, 10k, half or full marathon.
• Cycle on a static bike or as part of your daily exercise; pick a distance & challenge your pedal power!    
• Climbing: can you equal Mount Everest by climbing the stairs at home or by traversing a local hill

About the project

Sensory environments are enourmously valuable to those with physical and learning diasbilities but there is little provision locally, especially for adults with special needs. We will:

• Build a sensory room on-site at our Exeter Rainbow House, designed and equipped to meet individual need. 
• Create a safe and calming space where tenants are supported to develop and engage their sensory skills, where they can relax and relieve stress, and where they can develop their health. 
• Provide an environment where tenants can be supported to build confidence, resilience and wellbeing long into the future.
