VSL Christmas Project 2020
Why we need your help
Christmas Project 2020
The VSL Christmas Project supports vulnerable adults and families in need at Christmas time within the borough of Lewisham. This is achieved with the help of local individuals, churches, businesses and schools, all of whom come together to make a difference at what can be a difficult time of the year.
With the Covid pandemic we believe there will be a greater need of financial and food support over the Christmas period this year. We hope that you will be able to help us make Christmas a joyous time for all.
How Does the Christmas Project Help?
We give out food hampers for individuals and couples, larger food packages and supermarket food vouchers for families, new toys for children, as well as vouchers and toiletries for teenagers and vulnerable young adults. Volunteers from all walks of life give up their time to pack these hampers and toys, as well as helping to deliver them to people referred to us by local social services.
Normally we also organise a Christmas Day lunch for older and isolated individuals Together with Churches Together Sydenham and Forest Hill held in a local church. However unfortunately we are unsure if this will go ahead this year.
How Can You Help?
In 2019 we reached over 2400 people, but in order to achieve that again this year we will need your help. We would be immensely grateful for any donations you were able to provide, all of which will go towards the purchasing of food for hampers, toys for children, supermarket vouchers for families and shop vouchers for teenagers and young adults.
Please help us make Christmas a better time for vulnerable and isolated people in Lewisham. Thank you!
