Memorial in Spisska Nova Ves
Why we need your help
The Ark of our Sanctuary is not only our visual focus point during services but holds particular meaning for our congregation as it houses our most sacred treasure – our Torah scrolls, and linked to them, our rich history of engagement and commitment to our Czech and Slovak heritage.
One of our those scrolls originates from a town called Spišská Nová Ves in Slovakia.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of our member Cynthia Drapkin, progress has been made on creating a memorial to the Jews of Spišská Nová Ves in the town. The local "Civic Association" has committed to the project and now we would like to assist in the project by helping to raise funds.
If you or your family have chosen to read from the Spišská Nová Ves Scroll, or have visited the town, or are interested in the extraordinary and very special “Czech and Slovak Connection” please make a donation.
Please show your appreciation of our Slovak Torah Scroll and support this appeal for donations to build a memorial in Spišská Nová Ves.
