MMF Pledge 100
Why we need your help
Why we're celebrating 2021
In 2021 it will be 100 years since Mamie and Jack were married and started their new life in Malawi. Pledge100 invites supporters and friends of the Mamie Martin Fund to celebrate 2021 with …well, 100 of anything. Write 100 poems, climb 100 hills…it’s up to you. If you'd like to pledge 100 as a family group or team, that's also fine too.
Pledge100 is about sharing the Mamie Martin Fund story and having fun. We also hope to raise some money, but it is not the primary focus. You may make a donation, set up your own fundraising page or just make a noise about us on social media. All such help is very welcome.
This is an opportunity to enjoy a personal or team challenge while helping us to raise awareness of our work supporting girls in education in Malawi at the same time. Why don't you join us in this celebration?
You can register for the MMF Pledge 100 here. Participants will be awarded a certificate on completion of their Pledge100.
The Mamie Martin Fund was established in 1993 by the family and friends of Mamie Martin, to advance the education of girls in secondary school in North Malawi. We currently pay the fees of, and support, 139 girls across six schools, including seven girls at a school for deaf children in Embangweni. We work with CCAP Synod of Livingstonia, Mchengautuba Community Day Secondary School in Mzuzu and with the RC Diocese of Karonga.
MMF is managed by a Board of Trustees, one of whom is Malawian and lives there. At least one MMF Trustee visits our schools each year as part of our governance and our work is managed and overseen in Malawi by Mercy Sibande.
