Kitchen appeal for The Avenues

Why we need your help

Participants in the 2021 Kensal Rise Triathlon Team are raising funds for The Avenues Youth Project's Kitchen Appeal.

Cooking sessions have always been popular at The Avenues Youth Project, one of West London's few remaining youth clubs. But with job prospects becoming increasingly concerning to older members, we will now be focusing on training kitchen skills to boost employment prospects of our 15-18 age group.

After nearly 20 years of daily usage, both for kitchen skills and for serving up to 13,000 meals a year to our members, The Avenues' kitchen is showing its age. We plan to give it a major overhaul to make it a modern, inspiring place to learn, with dedicated work stations and improved ovens, storage and washing facilities. The upgrades will also allow us to rent the space outside youth club hours to help increase our long term sustainability.

The full cost is £75,000 and, with your help, we aim to start and complete works in late 2021.
