Mobile Advice Unit

Why we need your help

Throughout the pandemic we have supported people across our communities to deal with the impacts. Initially we helped to connect people with projects such as the food distrubtion hub, or prescription deliveries to ensure that people had access to the essentials.

Alongside that we have continued to deliver our core advice and information services, empowering people to move forward with their issues relating to areas such as welfare benefits, debt, housing, employment law or relationship matters.

Our work has been over the telephone, with no-wrong reason to call - since the first lockdown in March 2020 we have handled over 12,700 incoming calls, helping 7,115 unique clients.

That work has included securing over £1.9million of income gains and £662,000 of debts written off for clients.

We're now looking at our work moving forward, including over the next few months.

We want to take to the roads, visiting all 17 town and parish council areas of our borough.

To do this, we're looking to purchase a 'mobile advice unit' - putting an office on wheels so that we can park up in supermarkets, community locations, schools at pick up time, and support individuals and families with any issues that they are facing.

Please consider donating to make this a reality!
