Survival Week 21-27 November 2016

Why we need your help

ONE PERSON

 ONE WEEK

 ONE SACRIFICE

=

ONE BIG DIFFERENCE

Survival Week is RISE's biggest fundraising campaign of the year to raise money and awareness for our work with underprivileged children learning to read and write in rural India. It's a simple idea:

1. SIGN UP: Pay £10 to join the campaign

2. SURVIVE: Give up an essential item (it could be your morning coffee, facebook, or even a hot shower!) for the week of 21st-27th November.

3. GET SPONSORED: give more by being sponsored by friends+family, or donate the value of what you are giving up!

4. CELEBRATE: You have taken part in addressing EDUCATION DISADVANTAGE!

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

This is your chance to set a personal challenge - to go without caffeine, sushi, your daily stalk on facebook, even using the internet after work! For many children in rural India where RISE works, your essential is a luxury.

RISE is a small charity, and your donation will result in clear, measurable results on the ground enabling our Yearn to Learn supplementary literacy programme in rural India. With 46% of 10 year olds at least 3 years behind their literacy level, lacking the ability to read or write can prevent generations from realising their dreams and escaping poverty.

JUST £10 WILL PROVIDE A MONTH OF FREE EDUCATION FOR A CHILD IN INDIA.

HOW MUCH DO I PAY?

Pay £10 to sign-up as a Survival Week Participant... that will go directly to providing 1 month of free Yearn to Learn classes for a student in India.

Every £ matters! Go fruther... Get Sponosred by friends and family! Donate even more that £10 to make even MORE difference.

You could donate the value of the item you have given up!?

COFFEE: 1 medium coffee at £3 a day, every day? That's 21!

EATING OUT: Lunch out could be around £5 a day. If it's an expensive meal out, the sky is the limit?!

SNACKING: A chocolate bar or pack of crisps during breaks? A cheeky burger after work? That can easily add up to £15!

SWEARING: You can monetise swear words, every time you find yourself about to swear, that's £1 (yikes!)

TRANSPORTATION: If you're walking or taking your bike to work - you're saving probably around £5 a day, at least!
