The Eddie Byers Fund
Why we need your help
The Eddie Byers Fund was created in memory of our late chief executive to help aspiring students study English for better employment, education and community life.
Eddie believed that education transforms people's lives and wanted English UK to create a fund to give students from around the world the chance to study English. It is a project that support the charitable purpose of our association: advancing the education of international students in the English language.
So far the fund has supported refugees and asylum seekers gain employment, enter education and access essential services and feel a part of their communities in the UK. It has also funded teacher training in Tanzania to help young pupils attend high school, which taught in English, and English teaching in Palastine.
We feel that this fund is the best way we can pay tribute to Eddie, creating a lasting legacy of education in his name.
The project is entirely funded by donations and we are grateful for every contribution.
