Abortion aftercare helpline
Why we need your help
Women in Northern Ireland, Ireland and The Isle of Man are unable to access legal abortion at home, with many having to resort to buying pills online. Please support our work to give them the best possible care.
Access to abortion services in these countries is currently highly restricted, and those who cannot travel for abortion treatment have little choice but to break the law and order pills over the internet. Because this is illegal, women do not always seek help when they need it.
These women are being punished for lacking the financial means to travel, which is deeply unjust.
We believe these women should be able to access the same support as the women we care for in Great Britain, which is why we have launched a free telephone aftercare helpline. The confidential and legal telephone service will offer advice and direct access to a nurse for women who have obtained pills from the online not-for-profit clinics run by Women Help Women (WHW) and Women on Web (WOW) and who are concerned about any symptoms or simply want to speak to someone for reassurance.
While we wait for politicians to do the right thing and provide the care women need at home, we will work to ensure all women can access essential support.
