The QA Hospital Staff Dream Team are taking part in the Three Lakes Challenge taking place between 22nd – 25th June 2017. This will see participants canoeing the two biggest lakes in England and Wales (Bala Lake In Wales which is 7 miles and Lake Windermere which is 11 miles) and the longest loch in Scotland (Loch Awe which is 25 miles) in a 24 hour period.

We are completing this challenge for Dreams Come True. Dreams Come True is a UK children's charity which quite simply enrich the lives of children and young people with serious and life-limiting conditions across the country by making their dreams come true.

Last year myself and a group of medical personnel raised money for the charity by rowing the English channel from Nieuwpoort to Ramsgate. One of our work colleague’s sons George sadly has cute lymphoblastic leukaemia for a second time, shortly after our row the charity sent George on his dream. As his love for animals had grown over the years he wanted to go and stay on a farm with his family. Here are some photos from making George’s Dream Come True:

Taking part in the event will be members from all groups of the theatres team including surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

We hope to raise as much money as possible to help make other children’s Dreams Come True. Please support us and dig deep.
