Survival of the Fittest is officially a decade old, making it the longest running obstacle racing series anywhere. These gritty, urban and exhilarating obstacle courses are already well known for that ‘Big Event’ feel and for obstacles you simply don’t see anywhere else, but we figured if we’re having a big birthday, we might as well celebrate in style this time around.

Expect the unexpected as we shift Survival up a notch for 2017. At Survival of the Fittest you’ll discover the obstacles that the other guy won’t build: From container pyramids as big as an office block, to stunt jumps off the top of trucks, you’ll only find these monsters at our events. Once the race is behind you, grab a drink in our signature Wainwright Golden Beer tent and outdoor beer gardens and enjoy the fantastic vibe in our event villages, with food, music, live MCs and a free finish line photo. Then bask in the glory of becoming a Survivor.

Knauf, a family name, and a corporate group of global dimensions. Knauf was founded in 1932 by the brothers Karl and Dr. Alfons N. Knauf.

The successful development of the UK business started in 1988 with the construction of our first plasterboard plant in Sittingbourne, Kent. A second plasterboard plant at Immingham, N.E. Lincolnshire, and a plaster plant at Sittingbourne closely followed. To date, in excess of £100 million has been invested in the most advanced manufacturing technology making Knauf one of the largest suppliers of gypsum-based building materials in the UK.

Knauf is firmly committed to on-going technology developments and diversification, working closely with the industry to deliver quality, innovative, cost-effective products to our customers. Knauf systems have been used and installed around the world with proven success. In the UK, products have the quality assurance of the Company’s BS EN ISO 9001:2000 certification.

Walking With The Wounded supports a pathway for ‘at risk’ veterans to re-integrate back into society and sustain their independence. At the heart of this journey is employment.

With unemployment twice as high among returning soldiers, compared to the rest of the workforce; and in line with The Armed Forces Covenant, the support we provide is designed to ensure ‘Our’ Wounded are not disadvantaged by service compared to other citizens. Those we support are the men and women on the front line that have given so much on our behalf and in many cases have the least to fall back on post military service. Although many of our beneficiaries have not left school with a plethora of qualifications, obtained a university degree or have a broad network of connections into the commercial world, they have skills and talent which should be recognised and utilised.

Our core purpose is to support ‘at risk’ veterans, so they are a valued member of society and sustain their independence post military service providing long-term security for themselves and in many instances their young families. We have created a number of access points to identify veterans and their range of needs, including those that are homeless or at risk of homelessness (including those in temporary accommodation or those sofa surfing), those in police custody, those with alcohol dependency, those with mental health issues as well as those requiring employment support.
